Customize Your Siit Experience on Slack & Teams: Bot Identity vs App Name

At Siit, we offer two levels of customization to make your internal support experience more intuitive and on-brand. However, they serve different purposes and apply in different contexts. Here’s a breakdown to help you understand and apply both correctly.

Customizing the Siit AI Bot Identity (Slack & Teams – Pro Plan)

This customization changes how the AI bot appears when responding publicly to employee questions. It includes:

  • Bot name displayed in responses
  • Bot avatar (logo/icon) in Slack and Teams (for public messages)

🔧 How to update:

  1. Go to your Admin dashboard > Agent on the nav bar on the top.
  2. Click on AI Assist.
  3. Upload your custom logo and define a name.
  4. Preview the changes and click Save.

⚠️ Logo Requirements:

Image size must be between 512px by 512px and 2000px by 2000px

Renaming the Siit App in Slack Sidebar (Slack only)

This customization updates the name visible in the Slack sidebar, so employees can easily find and interact with the Siit app.

🔧 How to update:

  1. In Slack, go to Administration > Manage Apps.
  2. Find the Siit app.
  3. Scroll to the Bot User section.
  4. Click “Edit Bot Name” and save.

⚠️ Limitations:

  • You can only change the name, not the icon.
  • This action must be done manually in Slack — Siit cannot do it automatically due to Slack restrictions.
  • For Teams: Siit app name and icon can be customizable via an upload of a new .zip file. Please reach out to your Account Manager for more details.
