Assist - Guide
Opening Assist
Click Assist in the top bar, from any page of the admin dashboard. Assist opens as a panel on the right. The page behind it stays fully usable, so you can keep working while Assist runs.

To close it, click the cross at the top of the panel. Your conversation is saved.
Asking your first question
An empty conversation offers three categories. Click one to see ready-made prompts, then click a prompt to drop it into the composer, or type your own.
Build my setup
Have Assist create or change your configuration.
- "Suggest three workflows I should set up based on my requests."
- "Create a service catalog based on past requests."
- "Create an onboarding workflow."
Ask the docs
Get product and setup answers without leaving Siit.
- "Where do I set up my app access policies?"
- "How do I set up SSO?"
- "How do SLA rules handle business hours?"
- "Write a help article for our VPN reset process."
Analyze requests
Put your own request data to work.
- "Write my inbox weekly update from last week's requests."
- "How many requests last week, by service?"
- "Find open requests older than 7 days with no assignee."
- "Which services get the most requests but no automation?"
- "Top 5 recurring topics, and an article for each."
Approving an action
When Assist wants to write something to your workspace (create a service, update a request, publish an article), it stops and shows you what it is about to do.
- Read the action and its details in the approval card.
- Click Approve to let it run, or Reject to skip it.
- While an approval is pending, the composer is locked. You cannot send a new message until you answer.
If you reload the page with an approval pending, it is still there when you come back.
Stopping a run
Click the stop button while Assist is working to interrupt it. Actions you already approved are not rolled back, so check what changed before asking again.
Working with attachments
Click the attachment icon to add a file or a screenshot to your message. Assist reads it and can act on it. A common use: screenshot your setup in another tool and ask Assist to reproduce it in Siit.
Finding a past conversation
Click the history icon at the top of the panel to see your previous conversations and reopen one.
Good practices
- One task per conversation. Start a new conversation when you switch topic. Assist re-reads the whole thread each turn, so long mixed threads get slower and less precise.
- Name the object. "Update the Onboarding workflow" works better than "update the workflow."
- Check before approving. The approval card shows the exact action. Read it.
- Review what it built. Assist drafts fast. Open the service or workflow it created and confirm it matches what you meant before setting it live.
Frequently asked questions
Can Assist see data I am not allowed to see?
No. Assist runs with your identity and your role. It is scoped to exactly the same data you can open in the admin dashboard, and it cannot perform a write you could not perform yourself in the UI.
Will Assist change my configuration without asking?
No. Every action that writes to your workspace pauses for your explicit approval. Reads happen without a prompt.
Assist made a change I did not want. Can I undo it?
There is no one-click undo. Ask Assist to reverse it, or edit the object directly. If a change affected something you cannot easily restore, contact support@siit.io.
Which sources does Assist use to answer product questions?
Siit's public documentation (docs.siit.io), this Help Center (help.siit.io), and the API reference (developer.siit.io). If none of them cover your question, Assist tells you rather than guessing.
Is Assist the same as the Siit MCP?
They share the same toolset and the same permission scoping, but the MCP brings your Siit data into your own AI client (Claude, Codex, Cursor), while Assist lives inside Siit. Assist needs no setup. See the MCP Server setup guide.
Does Assist cost extra?
No. Assist is included in every plan, with a fair use policy per account. There is no AI add-on. If you reach your fair use limit, contact your Account Manager.
Why did my conversation stop working after a long exchange?
Very long conversations can exceed what the model can process in one turn. Start a new conversation. Splitting work into one conversation per task avoids this entirely.
In which language can I talk to Assist?
Write in your own language and Assist replies in it.
Need help?
Contact support@siit.io, or ask Assist itself. It knows this Help Center.
